PostSubject: E-paper some. 0 And Fujitsu Has It In Color.   Tue Oct 18, 2011 4:05 pm

Analysts at Fujitsu have upped the ante in your very competitive E-reader market by releasing a team of color E-readers in ones own new FLEPia line. These E-readers incorporate Fujitsu抯 innovative color e-paper and look to be the first in a new wave of coloration E-readers. This gives Fujitsu the technical lead over similar devices like the Kindle that are also stuck back in the written agreement era.
The announcement by Fujitsu happens the heels of the release of the new Kindle 2. 0 and it's interesting to see the fact that folks from Amazon reply to the latest salvo on an ever competitive battle for nothing not as much as the future of paper media.
燭hese new devices from Fujitsu are being tested as a point of sale (POS) terminal from the Termina Kinshicho Fujiya restaurant in Tokyo as being an interactive menu. In addition to allowing diners to select their menu choices as a result of tapping its sexy touchscreen, the device also gives patrons the ways to access train schedules, local weather, and other shopping online websites. It does this thru its wireless LAN association, all from the comfort of their table, and virtually all in living color. The nuvi 780 is also thinner than many other E-readers like the Kindle and features a larger screen to boot. Even though this may be a small test with several E-readers being used, it is doing represent a great application for the technology and could be an indication of things to occur.
The E-readers from Fujitsu think you are offered in two different sizes and three colors: bright white pearl, pink pearl and silver. They are both an awfully slim 12 mm thick and have a clean and organized look. The larger of this two (A4) has your letter sized display and weighs about 480 grams. The slightly smaller (A5) type is letter sized plus weighs just 320 gary. The display is an XGA quality that sustains 768 X 1024 and even either 8 or 4096 colors are generally chosen. Both of them sport an indoor wireless LAN connection that enables them to connect in the local network for transmission and downloading of subject matter. The units incorporate a good 4GB SD flash storage device to provide for native storage of content in accordance with the minimal storage requirements on most newspapers and magazines this will be enough space and keep you entertained for a long time. For navigation the E-reader boasts a compliment of 6 buttons and a scroll key on the cheaper portion of the equipment, positioned for easy access or a touchscreen display. The units also support a UNIVERSAL SERIES BUS 2. 0 connection port combined with internal stereo speakers.
Fujitsu claims that one single charge of the battery will give 50 hours of operation. This is possible a result of the way that e-paper works. Unlike a standard LCD display, e-paper only requires capacity to initially draw the impression. Once the image is displayed, there is no additional power was required to sustain it. This is one factor which e-paper the perfect medium for ebooks since looking through involves the display of a page of text that is static as well as dead reading the page, thereafter changes before another long period of rest as you investigate the next page. Another nice feature for the Fujitsu E-reader is that it incorporates a touchscreen present. This makes navigation rather easy and allows for far more interactive menus and programs than determined by a scroll key plus navigation buttons alone. These two features are what really sets it beyond other current E-readers and may are the next milestone for ones Kindle to reach. Currently the retail on these new units is nearly 3 times the sourcing cost of the new Kindle, but expect this to drop as more FLEPia units are purchased and production increases. For right now, the FLEPia unit looks that should be the king of the hill on the E-reader space, but expect others to challenge it again soon.
